Newcastle/ Hunter areas - local practice and pee buddies

Hi all,
Been a while since I posted, going to another Sydney workshop in 2 weeks.
Just been down to my local shopping centre today, nearly all are bowls with dividers now, and with 2 opposite walls you can get quite some distance to other urinators.
Normally can go most of the time if heavily fluid loaded, although still get thrown occasionally if some do not follow urinal etiquette etc.
Other things like travelling, conferences etc are still problematic as cannot fluid load, or it is not practicable to do so.
Unfortunately I have never been able to nail the breath-hold technique, which would have been the most beneficial tool to have with something like paruresis.
Anyone north of Sydney, Newcastle and greater areas who want to catch up, please PM me.
Solo practice can be quite lonely and tiresome, with all the fluid loading etc, so meeting up with others is often the best way.
Otherwise, look forward to another workshop in Sydney.
Derek

Hi Derek
Nice to meet you at the annual workshop. It's always great to meet people with the same predicament and to be encouraged by the progress that happens at these workshops. I'll let you know when I'm next heading up to Newcastle for a couple of days and hopefully we can find time to practice.
Cheers
James

Yeah good to catch up and meet you and the others, will try to go to the workshops every year now, regardless of how much I improve or not.
Still getting to the local shopping centre, but usually only monthly or bimonthly due to work, and had a successful solo practice today.
These type of venues now are relatively easy if strongly fluid loaded and not overly challenging, a lot even have back to back walls, which are ideal places for AP'ers to gain and reinforce success. Only had 1 problem today with lower urgency, but still managed to just initiate the stream while the other guy was there.
If you are in the area, or anyone else needs to a pee buddy, then feel free to contact!
As it turns out, soon after the workshop, where I did struggle to walk around that Roselands shopping centre somewhat, I have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, so am now on medications - corticosteroids and Methotrexate. The corticosteroids help with paruresis as they dilute the urine and increase urinary output, the other drug can cause urinary retention, so they contradict each other a little.
It is often difficult to know how various drugs will interact with something like paruresis, so will have to wait and see.
Tomorrow night am going to the Rugby, these sports stadiums are often regarded as the pinnacle, or the Mount Everest of paruresis, but will not necessarily be actively fluid loading, so will see what happens or if I need to go.
