HAVING PROBLEMS REGISTERING?

Post by JohnW » Mon Oct 01, 2012 11:05 am

Because this forum has been targeted by many spammers, the settings have been changed so that a username has to be approved before the registration is approved. I manage this process. The problem is that the only way I can judge whether your application is genuine, is by deciding whether the username looks genuine.

That method is very uncertain. So there is another way:
Immediately after trying to register, send me an email telling me the username you supplied. That way I shall also know the date you tried to register, and that will help me find your application quickly. A brief account of your paruresis history also would not go astray. You should email me with those details using
recov2000ATgmailDTcom (disguised).

I regret that this process has become necessary, and I apologise for any frustration that it causes.

Well done John. This should finally stop the spammers and let the genuine paruresis chat people join.

Ross.

Great work, not sure how these robots work, certainly they are attracted to certain things (eg the thread on penis size - seems to attract advertisers for anything penile to selling libido boosting drugs like viagra) by search engines.
They often use nonsensical names, or sometimes try to fool with a real name - both first and last name - very brazen for an AP'er and a red flag!
NO paruretic would ever do that - as most paruretics are initially mortified at anyone finding out their name, having usually kept such a deep dark secret for decades.

There are now so many applications coming each day (sometimes up to 100, presumably machine-generated), that I cannot possibly open each one and try to decide if it looks genuine.
The only way forward is for you to make your registration application and then immediately email me ( recov2000AThotmailDOTcom ) to tell me that you have done so. You should also tell me what username you have indicated. This will enable me to find your application fairly easily and approve it. If you don't get clearance, it may simply mean that I am away for a few days, in which case I may need to email you and ask you to try again with the same procedure.
