Re: Female Paruretics

Jenny,

Over the years we have had two female members of the Sydney Support Group (not at the same time - they never met, as far as I know). One of them made good progress, but I don't know about the other. I never hear from them these days.

Re: Plane flight to Europe

Crowtrap, You seem to be doing everything right. It's great that you discussed it with your GP. I would strongly recommend that you keep up the relaxation sessions - I have used them for years. I would use visual imagery before coming out of a session, and see myself having success in challenging si...

Re: Slipping back to old mind patterns ...so soon!

Tim, Thank you for your post. It is full of impressive self-analysis, and I'm sure that most of us can identify with what you're saying, and will find your post helpful. Let me remind you of two things said at the recent workshop: 1. Identify wrong thinking and confront it with right thinking. (Your...

Re: Mini Melbourne Workshop a HUGE success!

Tim, Thanks for your post. Whether or not the workshop was a huge success will really be determined by what the participants do about it AFTER the experience. The four who live in Melbourne have planned ongoing practice sessions, and I am sure that if they keep at meeting regularly, using the princi...

Re: Kick Off

Hi aokpops, Welcome to our forum. I hope that you find it helpful, and that you continue to post to it. Is it really the case that you were kicked off some other Paruresis forum (presumably the IPA one)? I must admit that I have after many years stopped reading it, because of personal time constrain...

Re: MELBOURNE WORKSHOP 2011

WORKSHOP CANCELLED By 1st March, I had only four applications, which gave me no alternative but to cancel. However, in order to provide for those four, I am now proposing a "budget workshop" limited to FIVE applicants, which I shall take in my Melbourne motel/hotel room. With such arrangements, the ...

Re: how do u practice overcoming sbs

Stanley, Thank you for all the detail you have shared in the earlier, long post you sent also on Tuesday. I think that at the moment I can only make a general kind of response. I am fairly sure that social anxiety is the main driver of paruresis. As "personal" beings as opposed to mere robots, there...

Re: MELBOURNE WORKSHOP 2011

Me and my pee buddy will be going. Anyone else? Jack, If you are the one person to apply so far, and if your pee buddy applies, we still need 8 more! I know it's not quite a week since it was announced, but I'm not exactly being rushed! :) Watch this space for current updates to the number of appli...
