Re: Newcastle Support Group now on!
Hi Derek, I am a new member & suffer from Paruresis, live in the Hunter Valley, the whole idea of having a piss buddy I find rather odd, if I was to join a support group, Newcastle would be the closest. Chris. Chris, I will send you a Private Message re: Newcastle and Hunter Valley Support Group. I...

Re: Poll: Age of onset of paruresis
Option 1 for me. I can't remember ever using the urinals in school toilets, although I do remember peeing in my younger brother's presence up to the age of about 12. David The reason I used the option <10, is that most memories are blurred prior to this age. I first noted I had a real problem in Ye...

Poll: Age of onset of paruresis
What age did yours start (ie when paruresis was first noted as a real problem):
1. <10
2. 10-12
3. 13-15
4. 16-18
5. 19-21
6. >21
My age of onset is Option 1.
I would suspect Option 3 would be the highest, followed by Option 2.
Option 6 would most likely be the lowest.

Re: List of good toilets for exposure practice
Today I found another McDonalds with an excellent layout in Sydney. It is the big, fairly new one on General Holmes Drive, Mascot, just before you get to the airport when driving north. I had to pickup a friend and as I was running early so stopped for a coffee and toasted sandwich. I had about a 6...

Internet stories on Paruresis
A couple of articles worth reading, I posted them on the old site, but will re-post them here: http://www.adavic.org.au/PG-personal-stories-bashful-bladder-syndrome-paruresis.aspx http://www.paruresis.org/research_results_RGibbs.htm There also used to be an article by Russell Gibbs on the http://www...

Re: Survival Skills for People with Paruresis
Most of these I have used in the past Rossco, and still occasionally now -eg Conferences or travelling etc, whereby active fluid loading may be impractical, and/or you are with work and professional colleagues. Let's not forget the good old fluid restrictions. Since my paruesis started in about 4th ...

Re: Newspaper Paruresis Article
This would be a great article to get ""out there"" in a paruretic hostile country like Australia.
In Australia, ignorance and male-pride is probably the over-riding factor that stop this condition from becoming mainstream.

Re: Finding a pee buddy – a new lease of life
G'day Chas, great you have found a pee buddy to practice with - you can make very good inroads from this more than anything. Don't expect your wife to "get it", mine never did or has. Don't let that faze you. I understand you worrying about people recognising you in public, in a small city, but it i...

Re: Vivtorian Toilets - Graduated Exposure
I assume these are the type of toilets you are talking about: http://www.nothingtoseehere.net/images/rothesay-victorian-toilets.jpg They were fairly common from memory back in the late 70's and early 80's, before places (eg railway stations and ferry wharfs) were upgraded and rennovated. They vary i...
