Re: List of good toilets for exposure practice
McDonald's, Camden has two bowl urinals with high (2 metre) and wide dividers, with only one cubicle that was also relatively private. NO trouble there. This is a relatviely new Macca's, was not there 12 months ago when I was down there for the same reason (giving a university lecture to students). ...

Re: penis enlargement surgery option
I don't wish to talk about the surgery option, rather address the other comment you made about having to give up relationships, and never having kids. This is a common thought process amongst paruretics, and often appears on the IPA website, www.paruresis.org It is just another one of our unfounded ...

Re: Going in for general anaesthetic / surgery
G'day Rossco, The anaesthetic did not cause urinary retention, thank God! In fact, even after having a bag of IV fluids while under anaesthetic, I did not need to go to the toilet for a while - probably due to dehydration effects of GA. No problems with urination thereafter. The more uncomfortable p...

Re: Perth support group
Dasher,
There certainly is one.
Brisbane is the only capital city that doesn't have one yet.
Check out www.shybladder.org and then click on support groups, of which support groups in Australia are listed first - ie it is in alphabetical order.
Cheers Derek

Newcastle Support Group now on!
Dear all, It has been a long time coming, but myself and another Novocastrian sufferer of similar recovery levels, have initiated and are commited to a new support group in NSW's 2nd largest city. Both of us are reasonably recovered, about 70 - 80%, but need to push the boundaries further out of any...

Re: Going in for general anaesthetic / surgery
Thanks for your thoughts John,
Fear of the unknown is often part of paruretic symptoms, which are often exaggerated in our own thought processes.
More concerned about the GA affects than anything else, however as you said they were minimal.
Derek

Going in for general anaesthetic / surgery
G'day all, I am having some quite substantial oral surgery mid next week, under general anaesthetic for a couple of hours or so. I have never been under a proper gaseous G.A since I was a young child, which was before the onset of paruresis which occurred later on in Primary School. I am nowhere nea...

Re: Waterless Urinals
sms88, Thanks for your feedback on similar overseas situtations. As you may gather from my post, I am certainly NOT an "enviromentalist", and never will be. It seems that such situations, as you have described, may actually backfire in their original intent. The people that instigate such changes al...

Re: Why is AP - The Secret Phobia
Hi Rossco, Why is AP a secret is both simple and complex. For a start, it ie "paruresis" has only recently been defined as a "clinical entity" in it's own right. I researced the topic, way back in the early-mid 1990's - even to the point of going through Medical Journals at the University of Sydney ...
