Re: ive found another great website

Another one: www.paruretic.org
Websites will only help so much and provide you with some tools and strategies, but you have to meet up with other AP'ers in person.

Re: HAVING PROBLEMS REGISTERING?

Great work, not sure how these robots work, certainly they are attracted to certain things (eg the thread on penis size - seems to attract advertisers for anything penile to selling libido boosting drugs like viagra) by search engines. They often use nonsensical names, or sometimes try to fool with ...

Re: Well I'm going to try Hypnotherapy

At least you actually have a memory of using urinals before paruresis started, so possilby hypnotherapy may be more beneficial. Since mine started in mid-primary school, any memories prior to that are vague to say the least. Mine was also not related to any bullying etc, I just couldn't get my head ...

Re: RECOMMENDED READING

Thanks for reminding us all about these books Rossco. Anyone can make small progressive steps by following the principles in the book by Soifer - affectionately known as the "Bible" to paruretics. Reading this book did not cause terrible anxiety, just an eye opener that there were others on the plan...

Re: I need some advice

Urinals are initially very unnerving when you have avoided them for a long period of time. Generally you have to find somewhere easier first and work your way up - that is what Graduated Exposure is. If you walk straight into a 3 man trough in a park toilet, where there is traffic around and there i...

Re: List of good toilets for exposure practice

Rennovations at local shopping centre - Stockland Greenhills (East Maitland) - now have dividers at the Big W end. There are 5 bowl urinals (one boy's height one), that are well spaced between them and have about 1.3 metre high dividers. The main one near the Food Court has an L-shaped urinal, with ...

Re: opinions

Onlyafool -that by definition is what Paruesis is - ie only being able to use the toilet when nobody else is around. Unfortunately you will be dead lucky to find a place of employment whereby you have your own private toilet. This would probably only happen if you are self-employed (which I have bee...

Re: 18 and Clubbing, HELP ME!

Chippy, See the thread on paruretic friendly public toilets. You need to practice at relatively easy places first, before moving your way up to harder places. When I was in my late teens - early 20's, Nightclubs and hotels were generally avoided. At that age even using cubicles was very difficult, p...
